Hey! I’m James, a recent graduate from Sydney Grammar School with an ATAR of 99.85, a UCAT score of 3400/3600, with full marks (900/900) in VR, and a Bronze Medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad.

But whilst that’s great and all, how does that help you?

Well, it might surprise you to learn that I didn’t put too much time into school chemistry (90% English), yet still managed to rank 2 in my school. What carried me through was the strong chemical intuition I had managed to develop through my Olympiad studies, and which now, I wish to pass on to you.

The Method:

People often say that chemistry is a lot of rote learning, and well, it is. But identifying underlying patterns, and going for knowledge that is just a little bit more advanced than the syllabus can reduce your workload, and make chemistry actually interesting.

In my classes, I shall:

• Comprehensively go through syllabus points
• Establish an overall framework to bind together various topic points
• Use practice questions and real world examples to allow students to smoothly implement their framework
